This page details the design and technical craft behind our website. We acknowledge the typography, technology, and partners that made it possible.

Website Development & Design

Our website was hand-crafted by our founder, Connor McKenzie, with the philosophy that every detail earns its place.

This site intentionally rejects traditional aggressive marketing, deceptive patterns, and manipulative tactics. Instead, our approach focuses on a clear, calming experience rooted in ethical human-computer interaction principles.

Inspiration

The design community shares work openly, teaches generously, and pushes standards higher. This site exists because of that collective effort.

We want to specifically thank:

Josh Puckett showed us that products crafted with uncommon care stand apart. Not through clever marketing, but through the experience itself.

Matt D. Smith (MDS) taught us that better design comes from systematic practice and attention to interface fundamentals, not inspiration alone.

Emil Kowalski demonstrated how thoughtful animation and interaction design can transform websites from static pages into engaging experiences.

Dan Mall showed us how to run a design practice that values both craft and business outcomes, proving the two aren't at odds.

Platform & Technology

Built with Framer, utilizing modern web standards including semantic HTML, responsive CSS, and optimized JavaScript. The website follows Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and progressive enhancement principles for optimal performance across all devices and browsers.

Lenis smooth scrolling and motion is powered by Darkroom Engineering, integrated via a custom Framer component.

Typography

This website employs a carefully selected typeface system chosen for readability, professionalism, and alignment with the Kintsu Labs brand.

Tranche Type. Designed by Bastien Tessanne (Est. 2025). Used strictly for large headings throughout the website. This display typeface features bold geometric forms, high stroke contrast, and sharp terminals that emphasize simple, recognizable shapes.

EB Garamond. Classical Garamond revival by Georg Duffner (OFL open source license). Used for body text, headlines, and interface elements. This revived classical typeface offers exceptional web readability with timeless clarity and warmth across all screen sizes and devices.

All fonts are served optimized with fallbacks for consistent performance.
